Hi, Nice To Meet You!

This is my first blog post under This Crafty Mom.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

I am a stay at home mother to twin (fraternal) 5 year old girls a little 3 year old boy! My passion is being crafty! I love to sew and make thing by hand. I do this for my sanity and lets face it I single income family with three kids and the only way to save money is to make things myself.

I also love to run and exercise.  Almost two years ago I started a journey to lose the extra 35 lbs I gained after having my babies.  I didn't rush into this, I took my time, I nursed my son and when I was ready I started running then going to gym and adding weights!  It took some time but two years later I lost all 35 lbs and have since run a 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) and a full marathon (26.2 miles) a dream come true.

I am a huge fan of Pinterest and all the ideas it give me for my crafts.  Where else can you go and type in "Hello Kitty Birthday Party" in to a search engine and get hundreds of DIY or visuals on the endless possibilities you can create.  Most of the time when I do a Pinterest post I am always saying to myself, "Why didn't I think of that." I have to thank all the other crafters out there who take the time to post all the wonderful things they have created so that they too can inspire others. I have well over 2,000 pins and every single one of them I want to do!  Many of them I have done or borrowed off the idea! You can follow me on Pinterest here.

Right now I am on a new adventure to create new business creating and selling embroidery and applique art. I am about to start a KickStarter online to get the funding I need to accomplish this goal (more posts to come later on this).  I love embroidery and putting appliques on shirts but I hate how limited I am by others designs.  Plus this is a perfect opportunity to expand my Etsy business (Sweet Lil' Mama) with something I can sell that I don't have to keep a drawers full of bows and fabric to sell, instead my business will be files on my computer that I will just email to people!  Plenty of room for that!

I have made and sold hundreds of crafts: bows, pillow case dresses, appliqued/embroidered shirts, bags, capes, dolls, headbands, bow holders and kid related items.  I have also created dozens of personal crafts for my own personal use and home.  I would love to share some of the projects I have done and even create the tutorials for other moms to create them on there own.

I hope you enjoy this blog as much as enjoy posting it all for you.
